InspireMeThursday - Find the Art in the Everyday

These were a walk in the park ...

Butchart Gardens and Victoria

The day started with the float plane adventure - 35 min harbour to harbour Vancouver to Victoria. Much better that the 5+ hrs from the hotel to downtown to the ferry and so on. The gardens were amazing and it turned out to be a beautiful day. After I toured the gardens, I had high tea on the patio and came back to Victoria to spend the rest of the afternoon checking all the boutiques downtown.

Vancouver - Stanley Park and the Aquarium

I finally managed to download the photos from my Vancouver trip 2 weeks ago. Here are some. The last one is Stanley Park view from the float plane.

Leather bound journal - handmade

Looks like I am on the roll today - trying to catch up after the trip to Vancouver. I spent some time at the Granville Island market, checking the art galleries and artist studios. I happened to step in the studio of a bookmaker: Ann Vicente. On the spurr of the moment, I spent the afternoon with her and made this leather bound journal.

Show Me Wednesday - Bulletin Boards

Here is mine. I am afraid it is minuscule. I don;t know why, but I never became "friends" with bulleting boards. Before this, I had a big one I made myself following Martha Stewart's instructions if i remember correctly...It was made of a big frame covered in fabric and with cloth pins for holding the papers. It became so crowded with all sorts of things that after a while it bothered me to look at it so I decided to downsize to the one I have now. Other then the photos of my 2 sponsored children in South Africa, I have the pamphlet from a Clown Communion service ...

Stamp Something - Into the Wild challange

Here it is my "wild" something: watercolor paper painted with acrylic, lace, fabric, paper from an old book, stamps. I hand stitched it! Don't ask why! (ok I will confess - I am afraid that if I get the sewing machine, the scraps of fabric and paper will take over my whole apartment and I will spend so much time doing crafts that I will loose my job!). And I just had an epiphany - I should have stamped "wild life". Don't know why, but this idea just popped in my mind ...will change it but in the meantime, here it is!

InspireMeThursday - Purple and Orange

I am sooo late, but I will post it anyway. I was in Vancouver last week so I have an excuse! I ended up using a plastered piece of cardboard (from a previous experiment). I was not sure what to do with it, but then I realized that the cardboard had the shape of a (somewhat damaged as it is missing part of the roof and side) house. So here it is.
