101 Faces - take 3

Eye dropper faces - I like the process but the results are hit and miss at best. I did not choose the best photo for this exercise either ... Here are some of the ones I sort of like:
Maybe I will go back and enhance the colored face ...

101 Faces - take 1

I took this Carla's class - 101 Faces. I had a lot of fun and I got very close to actually completing 101 faces!

Carla was the model for the pen drawings at the bottom. The watercolor faces started as color blobs. I think I will try to give these faces a life - a body would be nice too!

Horse flower

I painted the flower and the berries, then applied a wash of watercolor for the background. Then I saw "it" - the magic horse.

Gerbera

I am pleased with the result, I find it hard to have enough color variety when I paint flowers.

Purple rain

I bought a bouquet of flowers from the market and sketched them - part of Jane LaFazio's class at joggles.

Imaginary creatures

I took Carla's class last week. It was fun and I came up with a bunch of weird critters.

Abstract flowers

This is the second incarnation of a panel I already posted. I was not too happy with the result, so I decided to add some collage. The shapes come from one of the junk mail books. I copied them on artist tissue paper and glued them over the existing shapes.

Two hearts...

I have not decided in which direction to display the painting. I was looking at the overall shape, but a friend of mine said she saw two hearts...so maybe I will leave it this way. Acrylic, tree bark embedded with molding paste.
